Automated straightening equipment has been installed and commissioned by Texas Heat Treating. This equipment is used to automatically test automotive drive shafts that the company has Carburized and Hardened. After testing the shafts for “run-out” the equipment presses the shafts and continues testing until the shafts meet stringent straightness tolerances. Flaw-detection sensors are included in the system and provide for 100 percent in-process testing.
