Continuing in it’s expansion to meet growing demand, Texas Heat Treating – Ft Worth has installed and commissioned a 7th Surface Combustion “Super 36” Integral Quench Furnace. The furnace, rated for 6,000 pound loads, is mated with an additional (8th) Tempering furnace, parts washer, endothermic gas generation, and a second material charge car that services the entire line of “IQ” heat treating equipment. The equipment is used primarily for Carburizing and atmosphere controlled Hardening.
Texas Heat Treating President Buster Crossley states: “This new furnace capacity obviously helps in providing customers with the necessary throughput to service their markets. We also see improvements in quality and energy efficiency, and this also benefits our customers.”
In addition to the Integral Quench Furnace line, the Ft. Worth plant houses a Pit Furnace Department, Nitride Department and two Vacuum Furnaces. Straightening and Cleaning Departments complement these heat treating processes. A Metallurgical and Mechanical testing laboratory provides timely inspection services.
